SASAC confirmed mineral resources and nonferrous metals as Chinalco’s core business

Yesterday, State Assets Administration Committee(here abbreviated SASAC) issued a notice that in order to highlight the main industry of an enterprise and achieve a company’s sustainable, healthy and scientific development, SASAC reviewed and confirmed the adjustment of Chinalco’s core business.
After the adjustment, the core business of Chinalco are as follows: mineral resources exploitation( excluding oil and gas), the smelting & processing of nonferrous metals, relevant trading and engineer & technological service. SASAC requested that in accordance of adjusted main industries, Chinalco should further enhance strategic management, actively promote readjustment and reorganization, highlight main business, optimize resource allocation, strictly control non-core business investment and strengthen its core competitiveness
