Aluminium industrial chain represents China¡¯s growth, alumina output double within three years

On July 15, National Bureau of Statistics released output figures of base metals. The output of alumina, electrolytic aluminium and aluminium profile rose more than 26% YoY.

Alumina output doubled over three years

National Bureau of statistics recently released alumina output in June, that was up to 2,406,000 tonnes, with an increase of 18.10% YoY. The total production in the first half year reached 14,694,000 tonnes, with an increase of 44.30% YoY.

It is hopeful that annual production of alumina will breakthrough 16000,000 tonnes.

National Bureau of statistics published that electrolytic aluminium production reached 1,406,000 tonnes, with an increase of 31% YoY. The total output was up to 8,191,000 tonnes, with an increase of 45.6% YoY.

Aluminium output kept rising fast

Figures from national bureau of statistics showed that in June China’s aluminium output reached 1,888,000 tonnes, with an increase of 15.5% YoY. The total production was up to 9,760,000 tonnes, with an increase of 26.7% YoY. Seen from growth rate, it grew slightly slower than alumina and electrolytic aluminium. Considering that China first walked out of loss of aluminium output amid economic crisis as well as a high base, the growth of aluminium production keeps fast. Similar to alumina, in 2006 China’s aluminium output reached 8,336,900 tonnes. There is a trend that in the near future aluminium industry will double in three years.
