    Export rebates on nonferrous metals will be cancelled gradually by 2015

    China may gradually cancel export rebates of nonferrous metals and steel & iron within the next five and a half years. The director of department of State Information Center,Fan Jianping disclosed at Chengdu Lead& Zinc Summit. 


    Fan Jianping said in the next five and a half years, China will gradually cancel the export rebates of steel&iron and nonferrous metals products in order to limit capacity in these sectors, reduce energy consumption and carbon emission. China may impose export tariff on relevant products at the same time.


    "By 2015, a series of policies should be put in the places.” He added. As part of Chinese policies for limiting capacity of high-consumption and high- emission industries, this measure will be reflected in "12 Five-Year" plan next year.


    Meanwhile, Fan Jianping said that China advocated the classification of metals. As nonferrous metals industry can meet domestic demand, the exports of metals and its products is encouraged.


    Additionally, Fan Jianping said “ we will not export coal, coke and mineral products. China will make use of these resources. We can export cars and ships and other High value-added products.


    While China announced earlier that she would cancel 9% of export rebates on part products, like Steel, nonferrous metal processing materials… totally 406 kinds of products.
