ACH will close one million tons of alumina production capacity before 2011

Comprehensive news: Aluminum Corporation of China(Chinalco,ACH) has planned to eliminate high-cost and backward alumina and aluminum smelting capacity step by step. Before 2011, the backward production capacity including1000,000 tons of alumina per year and 200,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum will be closed and eliminated. Senior officer of Chinalco said the output of alumina and electrolytic aluminum in 2010 would rise respectively 1/3 and 15%.
