Taiwan-based aluminum foil maker Liton Technology, a subsidiary of aluminum capacitor maker Lelon Electronics, is expanding its production lines at its plant in Sichuan, China to meet increasing demand from the parent company and other aluminum capacitor makers, according to the company.
Liton plans to add a total of 18 production lines at the Sichuan plant, with the first 2-3 new lines to come online in July, said the company, noting that its current capacity is falling short of demand by about 20%.
Due to tight supply, aluminum foil vendors are likely to hike their prices by 8-10% in April, according to industry sources.
