At the end of January, primary aluminum stock was around 1100,000tons. An official from a smelter in Henan expressed stock would be higher, besides he said some warehouses in Guangdong and Shanghai began to refuse new orders mainly due to too much aluminum stock.. Traders and smelter officials told that the major factor for high stock in February was that smelters continued to work in Spring Festival but processing plants was closed. They expressed aluminum demand was not so strong as expected. The mentioned official from Henan said tight credit obviously affected the demand over the past two months. Daily average output of aluminum in February of this year reached about 46,714 tons, while in January it was 40,710 tons and 44,148 tons in December of last year.
