Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, unions reach agreement

MANITOWOC — Members of Local 301 of Glass, Molders, Pottery International Union and Local 125 of United Steelworkers have reached two-year agreements, expiring Jan. 31, 2012, with Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry.

Local 301 members will receive a one-half percent pay increase this year and 1 percent increase in 2011 while Local 125 members will receive a 1 percent increase in 2010 and 1.5 percent increase in 2011.

Jim Behnke, human resources manager, said WAF would continue to pay for 80 percent of the union workers’ health insurance premiums.

Both contracts, accepted Wednesday, no longer contain a “successor clause,” which would require any potential new owners to honor union contracts’ pay and benefits.
