March 13: Hong Kong industry sources said on Tuesday the enterprises that have high aluminum stock were beating down the aluminum price as smelting enterprises raising output. If the Chinese aluminum price is below international standards, Chinese smelting enterprises would consider raising exports of aluminum.
Aluminum inventories increased in February for the Lunar New Year holiday block the trade.
But Aluminum stocks didn’t fell in eastern China, because smelting enterprises continue to supply aluminum for this region.
The industry professionals believe that the aluminum ingots inventory in eastern part of China is at least 130,000 tons, and the inventory reached 10-12 million tons at the beginning of this month. These aluminum stocks include Shanghai Futures Exchange and other private aluminum stocks.
But in Nanhai City, Guangdong Province, aluminum inventory dropped to 30,000-40,000 tons, 50,000 tons in early March. Due to a lack of railway operations, in the past few weeks the aluminum transport volume from China's Guangdong Province to the north reduce a little.
