2009 China Aluminum Forum

Global economy has been over the hump and shown signs of recovery. Driven by warming-up demand on Chinese market, aluminum price is climbing up, enterprisers¡¯ profit-making ability has been improved, and meanwhile, investment in the sector has become hot again.

November 26, 2009 China Aluminum Forum was held in Yunnan, Kunming. This event is hosted by China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and China National Nonferrous Metals Industry Group, and over 580 people including 150 foreign delegates participate in the conference to make it a real international giant gathering. Among them, there are International Aluminum Institute, the U.S. Aluminum Association, the Japan Aluminum Association and Aluminum Association of Australia.

So far, the forum has been held eight consecutive sessions, and is taken as the most influential and big scale platform for aluminum enterprises, pare parts enterprises and related research centers to network and exchange ideas.

In the speech of Kang Yi, Chairman of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, he talked highly of the development of China aluminum industry. He said with the sustainable development of China's aluminum industry, its overall strength has been continuously enhanced and the international influence is rising. In terms of industry size, key technology and equipment, research and development capabilities as well as industrial competitiveness, China's aluminum industry has full access to the global ranks of great powers; China has become the most influential supplier and consumer.

Since China has issued industrial adjustment policy and support plan for nonferrous metal industry, now aluminum sector is facing new opportunity and challenge.
