Since 1990s, die-casting industry of China has made an amazing progress and developed into a new industry. At present, aluminum alloy die-casting is one of the widely used processes for aluminum forming in automobile industry, accounting for 49% in all processes. Currently with a number of about 3000 die-casting companies, die-casting output of China increases over 20% to 870,000 ton in 2005 from 266,000 ton in 1995, where aluminum alloy die-casting makes up over 3/4 in all die-casting pieces.

Die-casting products of China are applied to various areas, including automobile, motor, telecommunication, household appliances, hardware products, electric tools, IT, lighting, toy lamps, etc. The performance of die-casting aluminum alloy is divided into low strength (China Y102) and high strength (China Y112). Currently industrial die-casting aluminum alloy covers series, such as Al-SiAl-MgAl-Si-CuAl-Si-MgAl-Si-Cu-MgAl-Zn, and so on.
