    Chinalco's Luo meets with Jamaican Minister of Mines and Energy

    Nov 26, President of Chinalco Luo Jianchuan, met with the delegation headed by Mr. James Robertson, Jamaican Minister of Mines and Energy.


    President Luo indicated that the friendly relation between China and Jamaica has created favorable conditions for the cooperation between the enterprises. With the recovery in the global aluminum industry, we can see that the Jamaica's bauxite and alumina industry has a broad investment prospects. Chinalco hopes the two parties can carry forward the cooperation over project development, technical exchange and trade.


    Mr. Robertson presented the measures that the government of Jamaica had taken to cope with global financial crisis in the energy and aluminum industries. He said that in order to meet the new situation of the international aluminum industry, the aluminum industry in Jamaica has be in the process of re-positioning. The Government of Jamaica welcomes the aluminum companies to invest in Jamaica.


    Directors from the Chinalco’s financial department and Chinalco’s Foreign Holding Co., Ltd and some other related staff of the financial department also attended the meeting.
