NFC to set alumina plant in Laos

According to a post released by the China nonferrous metal industry's foreign engineering and construction Co.,ltd on Laos' investment progress, the bauxite reserves and grade in Pake Song Area, Champassak Province of Laos had met the requirements, and the company would set up a alumina plant there with the total investment of 500million dollars. It is expected the new plant will equipped with an initial capacity of 600,000 tons / year, and will expanded to 1.8 million tons / year. Nov 6, SARCO Inc. signed the agreement with LSI Corporation to develop the licensed 66 square kilometers ‘bauxite mine.
51% shares of SARCO Inc. is hold by Kaifeng Resources, which is a whole owned subsidiary of China nonferrous metal industry's foreign engineering and construction Co.,ltd.
Later, SARCO Inc. and LSI Corporation will set up a joint-venture company, in which, the LSI Corporation will hold 49% of the shares and SARCO Inc. will hold the other 51%.
If the technical and economic conditions allowed, the new plant will equipped with an initial capacity of 600,000 tons / year, and will expanded to 1.8 million tons / year with the investment of 500million dollars. The financing channels will be responsible by SARCO Inc.
