Virgin Aluminum Output Expected to Reach 15.2 Million Ton in 2008

According to the latest forecast by Metal Consulting Company-CRU, virgin aluminum output of China is expected to reach 15.2 million ton next year, up 21% compared with this year.

Aluminum annalist of CRU Wan Ling said, ¡°Concerning new project will be finished in the second half of this year or early next year, we predict the total production will greatly increase compared with this year¡¯s 12.6 million ton. She also said, ¡°The measure to annul power price allowance for aluminum manufacturers won¡¯t have a practical impact on production, though it is bound to affect profits of some manufacturers.

CRU predicts that alumina output of China is expected to increase from 21.7 million ton to 27 million ton.
