Vice-governor of Heilongjiang Province inspects Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd.

Oct 16,Accompanied by the member of Harbin Municipal Committee and vice mayor Cong Guozhang, the vice-governor of Heilongjiang Province carried out an inspection towards the Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd.
During the inspection, Mr Wang visited the exhibition hall and the reconstruction project of the large size special aluminum alloy plate and strip. Meanwhile, he also get a through understanding of the company's installation of the 3950mm hot roughing mill, the financing of the reformed project and the market prospect. The company's technological innovation of the Independent intellectual property rights, and the market development of the key products left a deep impression to him.
He praised that the company had made a great contribution to the national economic development and national defense. He hopes the company can focus on the current and plan for a long-term development, try to place a solid fundation for the further expansion.
About Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd.
Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd. (namely 101 factory, hereinafter using abbreviation NELA), as two of the 156 major projects during the first 5-year-plan, is the first aluminium and magnesium alloy fabrication plant built in early PRC, which was reported by comrade Chen Yun to the Central Party Committee and was read and approved by Mao Tse-Tong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and Liu Shaoqi. NELA was founded in 1952, put into production in 1956, reconstructed to be a solely state-owned company in June 1998, and put under Harbin administration in July 2000. It joined CHINACO in September 2007, and becomes one of the five large processing bases of CHINACO.
The main products of NELA are "SWAN BRAND" aluminium, magnesium, and Al-Mg alloy products, such as plate&sheet, strip, foil, tube&pipe, rod & bar, profile, wire, powders, forgings, etc., including 18 categories, 258 alloys, 4496 varieties and 19505 sizes. NELA is famous for its largeest number of varieties and sizes in the aluminium industry. The products are widely used in various fields in our national economy like aviation, aerospace, weapon, ship, petroleum, chemical industry, transportation, communication, electronic and light industry, etc., and exported to 16 countries in different areas, such as Japan, Korea, South Korea, and countries in South-Asia, Europe, and America, etc.
During the past about fifty years, NELA has many “first” in the aluminium processing history of China. NELA has supplied a great number of light alloy materials to major projects, such as “Shenzhou” series spaceships and Chan’e-1 lunar satellite, and has made big contributions to the beginning and development of the national aerospace, defense and military. It has the honor of “Silver Pillar of the Nation” and “Cradle of Al&Mg Processing Industry in China”.
