Shanghai Aluminum Industry Urges Energy-saving Projects

The high energy consumption of Shanghai Aluminum industry has become a focus, however, the basic solution to this problem lies in the understanding of the structures of the industry. As early as the Match of 2008, Shanghai Aluminum Trade Association had carried on a sample survey towards the furnace energy consumption situation of the 33 companies and wrote the "Shanghai aluminum industry furnace energy consumption situation Investigation Report". Later, the association organized three technology groups to solve the problems, which include the low energy efficiency, aging equipment, and poor energy-saving effect.

Under the help of the association, the energy-saving work of the companies has achieved satisfying efforts. Most members of the association have attended the "JJ" energy-saving activities; they adopt new facilities and clean energy during the production.

Recently, the Shanghai Energy Conservation Service Center announced the" the first batch of confirmed technology improvement projects". Shanghai Xinge Non-ferrous Metal Co., Ltd.,  Sapa Heat Transfer (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and other two companies are on the list. According to the news released by the association, the total investment of the four companies on the energy-saving improvement project has reached 61.881 million yuan. After the project was completed, it would save16.07 thousand tons of coal.
