Lv Youqing: Practices Needed for Amending Relationship

Chief Executive Officer Tom Albanese said that Rio Tinto Group is seeking a better relationship with Chinalco and is in talks with Aluminum Corp. of China after it refused 19.5 billion dollar capital injection program the and trapped in the deteriorating financial situation. But last week, Lv Youqing made a comment on those reports to the Medias. He declared that till now, Rio Tinto hasn't showed any practical actions.

China accounted for 27 percent of Rio¡¯s sales in the first half, as the single largest shareholder of Rio Tinto, Chinalco also hopes the Group can get rid of the predicament as soon as possible. But cooperation with Rio is not the only way to help the company. And Rio Tinto needs to show some practical actions before the Chinalco agree to cooperate with it again.
