China nonferrous metal regenerating-utilization scale topped No. 1

Making use of the renewable resources have an important role in compensating the resources and reducing the pollution. In the recent years, China nonferrous metal regeneration utilization industry has made a great progress, the overall scale topped No. 1 all over the world.

China is the world-largest copper, aluminum, lead, zinc and main nonferrous metal consuming country, however, the domestic nonferrous metal resources can not satisfy the increasing demand. In terms of economic and social sustainable development as well as industrial actual development, nonferrous metal development must more and more relies upon the renewable resources, to reduce the dependent on the mineral resources.

It is learned that in 2008 China's regenerated copper was 2mln tons, ranking No.1 throughout the world, accounting for around 30% of the total of domestic copper consumption; the renewable aluminum was 3mln tons, ranking No.2, making up about 20% of the domestic aluminum consumption.

Since 2008, the global financial crisis severely attacked the nonferrous metal regenerated utilization, China strengthened the support to the nonferrous metal recycling economy and renewable utilization. At present, ever-halted regenerated main copper producers successively resumed their production; the major regenerated aluminum and lead manufacturers keep their operation steadily; a lot of strong nonferrous metal makers started to enter the regenerated utilization field, keeping a momentum of good development.
