Alumina price of China keeps steady before National Holiday.

Some workers say, alumina (not made in Chinalco) is priced at 3400-3500 yuan/ton, and changes a lot compared with the past few weeks. However, Chinalco hasn¡¯t made any adjustments since alumina price dropped from 3900 yuan/ton to 3500 yuan/ton on September 13.

An analyst from Beijing Antaike Limited said, ¡° The market is quite steady, and there are few stock like before due to few stock deals these days. Most people choose to buy in the form of long-term agreement to avoid stock price fluctuation.¡± He also indicates, no imported alumina quotation and deal are heard this week, while it is quoted at USD 360-370/ton.

To celebrate China National Holiday, all stock exchanges will be closed from 1^st to 7^th October.

An employee of China Minmetals Corporation said, ¡° We think there won¡¯t be any changes due to the steady market, and few people are interested in stock.¡±

Platts evaluate the price of alumina imported from Australia is quoted at USD 360-370/ton.
