According to customs data, China has imported 610,000 tons of alumina i8n July, increasing 52% on last year's same period, and raising 15% on last moth. The growth in imports is mainly caused by the domestic demand-led increase and the impact of aluminum ingot prices. China has imported 3,290,000 tons of alumina from January to July, an increase of 17.5%. At the same time, the global aluminum consumption began to rise, in June aluminum consumption has increased 6.6%.

Because of the raising prices, the smelting business has restarted three million tons of idle and new production capacity, and another one million tons production capacity is expected to be put into practice before November, eventually, it will boost the demand for alumina.

AS the sales of the real estate industry and automotive industry are recovering, it will stimulate the demand for electrolytic aluminum, thereby, the alumina market will also be impacted.
