Aluminum industry enter into a low-profit era

Vice President of Aluminum Corporation of China,Liuxiangming said: the global mining industry has entered a new round of adjustment period, and the aluminum industry has taken the lead into the era of structural adjustment of the profit

Attending the 2009 (seventh) China Nonferrous Metal Mining Forum£¬Liuxiangming said that aluminum industry has taken the lead into the era of structural adjustment of the profit. There are two main reasons for this phenomenon: First, consume of the next period is not obvious, but the stock increases, the consume capacity is only about 70%; Second, the increasing imports of metals bring pressure to the domestic market.

Liuxiangming believes that the integration of resources together with the mergers and acquisitions will be the main theme of mining in China for the next a few years. "Despite about 20 years' reform of the global mining industry, the integration of the enterprises that aims to achieve control over the markets and resources will remain in the climax."

It is reported that because China's lack of mineral production, there are a great number of metals imported every year. In 2008, 5,192,100 tons of copper concentrate are imported, 14.75 % more than that of last year; 1,444,900 tons of lead concentrate, an increase of 14.2% compared with that of last year; 2,384,800 tons of zinc concentrate, an increase of 10.65% compared with that of last year.
