    Non-ferrous metal industry achieves profit of 77.5 billion yuan from Jan. to July.

    From Jan. to July this year, business income of enterprises in non-ferrous metal industry increases 42% to 1000 billion yuan and total profit rises 35% up to 77.5 billion yuan compared with the same period of 2006.


     


    The overall output of ten non-ferrous metals increases 24.58% in 2.58 million tons up to 13.09 million tons. Copper rises 10.92% to 1.89 million tons, virgin aluminum rises 36.28% to 6.94 million tons, lead rises 7.21% to 1.59 million tons and zinc rises 20.56% to 2.08 million tons over the same period of last year. The fast growth of electrolyze aluminum is the key factor to motivate the overall output increase of nonferrous metals.
