Chinalco is planning on 10% down in alumina price in June

Smelter official declared that Aluminium Corp of China, the largest aluminium producer in the country, is planning to cut the alumina price by about 10% in late June, as spot aluminium price has been reduced resulting from a increased amount of aluminium imported and outputted in the country.

Spot aluminium price has cut by 15% in China over the past two monthes.

According to a trading manger from a large aluminium smelter, domestic alumina price has been suffering from increased import volume.

According to some dealer and smelter official, the present trading price of spot aluminium is about 1950 yuan, while the number used to be 2300 yuan in April. After two rounds of price upgrading, Chinalco offer a price of 2300 yuan.

Official said that the country restarted some spared alumina capacity and added new sources in April and May.
