China's imports of refined copper hit a record in April for the third consecutive month.
The world's top copper consumer imported 317,947 tonnes of refined copper in April, up from March's record of 296,843 tonnes, data from the General Administration of Customs showed on Friday.
Arbitrage demand boosted copper imports, as well as imports of primary aluminium to the world's top producer and consumer of aluminium.
Imports of primary aluminium surged to record 362,400 tonnes in April, surpassing March's multi-year record of 85,965 tonnes.
