China spurs aluminum export rebound

U.S. aluminum scrap exports jumped 45.3 percent to 143,344 short tons in March after spending four months below the 100,000-ton mark, with China (including Hong Kong) accounting for an unprecedented 74 percent of shipments.

Exports peaked above 230,000 tons in July last year, when China accounted for not quite half of the volume shipped offshore.
