China markets retreat on concerns over surplus metals output

Chinese markets fell from a 9-month high, led by metal shares, as prices dropped on China’s overprodution concerns.
The Shanghai Comprehensive Index droped 0.90 percent to 2639.89. The SME Comprehensive Index slid 0.01 percent to 4136.68.
Hong Kong stocks dropped the most in a month, led by property shares. The Hang Seng Index lost 3.04 percent to 16541.69. The Hang Seng Growth Enterprises Index rose 0.5 percent to 470.89. The Hang Seng China Enterprise Index dropped 2.98 percent to 9448.53.
Taiwan's TAIEX Index declined 1.87 percent to 6364.17.
The Hang Seng Property Index dropped 4.07 percent to 20954.12. Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited (HK:0001), Hong Kong's largest property developer, declined 5.09 percent.
