Shanghai zinc rises by limit on China economy hopes

Zinc futures in Shanghai touched their 5 percent upside limit on Thursday, following surges in London on Wednesday, as investors were optimistic about China's first quarter economic figures due to be released shortly.
The most-active July contract SZNN9 rose to 13,730 yuan ($2,010) a tonne in early trade.
Other metals followed. The third month Shanghai copper contract SCFc3 rose by 3.6 percent to 40,790 yuan a tonne, and Shanghai aluminium SAFc3 rose 1.1 percent to 12,915 yuan a tonne. ($1=6.832 Yuan)
