China's Al imports more than doubled in March

Chinese imports of aluminium products rose nearly 145% month-on-month in March on arbitrage trading, and the surge is expected to continue into April. Imports of unwrought aluminium and fabricated aluminium rose to 147,181 tonnes, 91.6% higher than a year ago, said Chinese customs. Traders have been importing big volumes of primary aluminium into China to take advantage of higher prices, market participants said.
