Henan spares 1800000 tons of alumina capacity

Henan, being the largest base of alumina, has spared capacity of exceeding 1800000 tons in the trending of lowering price. And by now, Henan Branch of Aluminium Corporation of China (Chalco), the largest producer of alumina in China, has spared capacity of more than 1200000 tons, and Zhongzhou Branch more than 640000 tons.

Electrolytic enterprises continues to cut output under the stress of financial crisis, resulting in serious oversupply of alumina. In July 2009, two large electrolytic aluminium companies of Henan, Yichuan Power and Shenhuo Aluminium, declared to cut output excessively; and Chalco Henan has spared all capacity of electrolytic aluminium.
