Import increase in volume and price of bauxite from Shandong Port

According to statistics, besides multiplication than last year, Shandong is has been following the trend of increasing in import of bauxite. It imported bauxite of 22426000 tons from January to November this year worth 1.45 billion dollars, up 11.2% and 61.9% year-on-year; average import price was 64.5 dollar/ton, up 45.6%.

Recently, however, import volume and price of bauxite both began to fall. In the previous three month, scale of bauxite import was sub in stable, while started to fall substantially¡ª1543000 tons in October, down 39.1% on-month; 1397000 ton, down 9.5% on-month and down 17.9% on-year.

From January to November, Shandong Port imported bauxite mainly came from Indonesia, about 14731000 tons, up 10.1%; Australia 4.80000 tons, up 1.4 times, India 3459000 tons, down 28.7%. Bauxite imported from above countries accounts for 99.3% of the total volume.
