Chinese aluminum imports in 11 months up by 9.11% YoY

Interfax China reported that China's imports of primary aluminum between January and November this year grew by 9.11% YoY, despite November imports tumbling when compared to that of October.

China imported 6,428 tonnes of primary aluminum in November, down 38.38% MoM from the previous month bringing the country's imports over the January to November 2008 to 108,133 tonnes.

Imports of alumina between January and November dropped by 13.44% YoY to 4.15 million tonnes, while imports for November alone climbed by 45.85% MoM to 377,114 tonnes. Bauxite imports decreased by 18% from October to 1.4 million tonnes in November while imports for the January and November came to 24.48 million tonnes up 15.67% on an annual basis.
