China¡¯s SRB will buy 1m tonnes of aluminum, say sources

China¡¯s State Reserve Bureau (SRB) is planning to buy 1 million

tonnes of aluminium from the local market to reduce high stock

levels in the country and bolster its beleaguered aluminium

industry, according to growing rumours in the market. The SRB

bought about 300,000 tonnes of aluminium from state-owned

producer Chalco on Tuesday.
