Qinghai Ping An Limited has placed an order with SIEMAG for the supply of a new coil conveying and storage system. The new system is expected to go into production in mid 2009.

Ping An is currently constructing a new aluminum flat material production plant with a capacity of 240,000 tonnes per annum at its site in Xining in western China. From the new hot strip mill supplied by SMS Demag AG, the coils are first of all transported to a manually operated flat store with 300 storage locations for cooling.

The coils are temporarily stored in the two aisle high bay store with its 700 storage bays. On completion of rolling, they are transported to the finishing lines via the high-bay store. The entire flow of material from the hot rolling mill to the processing lines is monitored by the SIEMAG warehouse management system.
