China To Maintain Export Taxes On Some Metal Products - Min

China will maintain export taxes on metal concentrates, ferroalloys and steel billets next year, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on its Web site Wednesday.

The statement reaffirmed Beijing's policy of slowing exports from energy-intensive industries.

The statement didn't rule out the possibility of lowering the taxes or address expectations among some market participants of China eliminating export taxes on refined lead and reducing or removing them on primary aluminum and aluminum alloy.

Beijing removed export tariffs on many steel products earlier in December, and some analysts believe the government may extend similar incentives to other steel products in the months ahead.
