Senior manager of Rio Tinto indicated that China’s rise of consumption level would substantially increase the demand on aluminium and that the company was preparing for the new coming situation. Xiaoling Liu, Chief of Rio Tinto PLC said on 5th that she was confident about China’s consumption level to reach Japan and Corea.
If China reached this level, said Xiaoling Liu in Melbourne Mining Club, demand of aluminium would have substantial increase.
However, aluminium in China has been currently self-sufficient.
Liu said, Australia, well-stored with 25% of the world’s alumina, was preparing for the rising demand.
