Andrew announced recently that the Environmental Ministry Building in Beijing has installed its HELIAX FXL aluminum transmission cable for indoor wireless communications.

Andrew is a CommScope division that provides wireless communications systems.

The environmental ministry building is an international cooperation project financed by The World Bank, Italy and other international government sources, with a goal to strengthen China's capacity for implementing the global environmental protection treaty, said Andrew in a statement.

Touted as Beijing's latest landmark, the environmental ministry building is a showcase of sustainability-centric use of environment-friendly building materials, natural lighting, air conditioning, and solar energy, Andrew added.

"Compared to use of alternative metals, the use of lighter-weight aluminum in HELIAX FXL in this project saves power and fuel during manufacturing and transportation and is fully ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant," said Ben Cardwell, vice president of Sales and Marketing, Andrew Asia Pacific.

HELIAX FXL is part of Andrew's new HELIAX 2.0 family of wireless transmission line systems, which features a single, multi-faceted connector, and EZfit Series universal connector, according to the vendor.

Andrew also provided wireless infrastructure to other Chinese organizations including the National Center for the Performing Arts, Daqin Railway, Beijing Subway and Shanghai Metro, the vendor said.
