Alumina import down in the first three quarters

According to the customs, alumina imported from Tianjin port was 97000 tons from January to September, worth 45320000 dollars, down 28.9% and 32.9% year-on-year.

¡°Increase of import is constrained due to output expansion and over-capacity in China, which is one of the main reasons for down of alumina imported from Tianjin port¡±, said a analyst.

Besides, China-made alumina boasts price predominance, which limits import. Lately, China-made alumina price is about 3200 yuna/ton, much lower than the international price of 410 dollars/ton without counting shipping charges and added-value tax, etc.
