According to the customs, Tianjin port imported alumina 97000 tons, worth 45320000 dollars from January to September, down 28.9% and 32.9% year-on-year.
Analyst points out that restrain import of recent time is mainly resulted from expansion and over capability of alumina in China.
According to the customs, Tianjin port exported steel 12727000 tons from January to September, worth 13.23 billion dollars, up 18.5% and 34.6% year-on-year.
This trend is mainly caused by the reasons as follows:
1. Policy change constrains steel export. Started from January 1, China raised export tax of steel blanks and pig iron to 25% from 15%, tax of strip steel, joint pipe to 15% from 0-10%. 2. Increase of the price of raw materials further shrinks the space of steel export. 3. Weakened global demand on steel and iron turns many steel enterprises to market in China instead of abroad.
