Everbright Futures: cost fall helps aluminium ingot

Alumina production from imported bauxite is gaining profit due to fall of transportation charges. Some alumina enterprises in the country is restarting operation.

Alumina prices of non-Chalco (13870,275.00,2.02%, Buzz) will continue falling with average price around 2200 yuan/ton. Production of aluminium ingot will also fall.

Though still in deficit, cut of cost brings hope to aluminium smelters who therefore slower the rate of output cut.

The North halted the construction industry from November, which resulted in a direct consumer off-season of aluminium ingot. Therefore, oversupply will likely to further draw the price down, which will be, however, in a relatively slow rate.
