According to a recent report released by the American Aluminum Association, it is estimated that as of the third quarter of 2022, the demand growth rate of the North American (US and Canada) aluminum industry so far this year is 6.3%. The growth in the third quarter continued the strong demand trend seen in the first and second quarters.

Key conclusions of the report include:
△As of the third quarter of 2022, aluminum demand in the United States and Canada (shipments by domestic producers plus imports) totals approximately 21 billion pounds (approximately 9.525 million tons), an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2021.
△As of the third quarter of 2022, the industry's demand is close to the record demand level of 2018 and 2019 (above).
△Aluminum demand in the third quarter of 2022 decreased by 2.1% compared with the second quarter of 2022, but totaled 7 billion pounds in the third quarter, an increase of 7.0% over the third quarter of last year.
△As of September, the demand for rolled products (thick and thin plates and foils) increased by 8.4% year-on-year.
