Vedanta Limited plans to expand the production capacity of the Lanjigarh alumina refinery from 2 million tons per year to 5 million tons per year, according to Aladdin (ALD). Vedanta said it has invited local and international partners for the factory expansion.
Vedanta Limited announced its production report for the second quarter of fiscal 2023 (July-September 2022) on October 3, local time. Among them, the aluminum sector data: Alumina production at the Lanjigarh refinery fell by 11% year-on-year and 6% month-on-month to 454,000 tons, due to scheduled maintenance. Primary aluminum production increased by 2% year-on-year and 3% month-on-month.
Figures for the first half of FY23 (April-September 2022): Alumina production at the Lanjigarh refinery fell by 5% year-on-year due to scheduled maintenance in the second quarter of FY23. Primary aluminium production increased by 3% year-on-year. Source:
