Benefiting from the strong market demand in Germany, Hydro has introduced a third extrusion press to its processing plant in Rackwitz, Germany. With an investment of EUR 11 million, the project will create 40 jobs and is expected to increase the extrusion capacity of the plant by 12,000 tons per year.

Two months ago, Hydro broke ground on an expansion of its aluminium recycling plant in Rackwitz, which will add 25,000 tonnes of forging capacity to the recycling plant. The recycling facility is reported to be adjacent to the extrusion plant.

The third extrusion press introduced is second-hand equipment from a competing unit acquired by Hydro. The extruder can process and produce products in the fields of construction, transportation, machinery and so on. Source:
