Overcapacity of exceeding 18 million tons a year

Nonferrous Metals Association showed that investment of aluminium processing industry, including alumina, from January to September was 31.02 billion yuan, up 44.82£¥ year-on-year; new started investment from January to September was 16.9 billion yuan, down 29.8% year-on-year.

New capacity of this year was about 3 million tons, and only hundred thousand tons were put into operation. The association predicted that the year¡¯s output of aluminium industry would exceed 18 million tons.
