Low aluminium price shut some high cost capability of aluminium smelters in China

Low aluminium price forces some Chinese smelters to shut down high cost capability, indicating that production halts are surging in the international market.
The price of 13700 yuan/ton, which is far below the production cost of 16,000-18,000 yuan/ton, casts trouble over a great number of smelters.
Aluminium alloy price at LME fell by 37% from the pink 3380 dollar/ton in July.
More aluminium smelters have to cut capability if this trend continues; as a result, primary aluminium output of this year will lagging behind 14000000-14500000 tons as analysts and experts predicted. Output of primary aluminium of last year was 12300000 tons.
