    The gradual downfall of Argentina’s Bauxite import: 8.73% dip projected for 2020

    The Bauxite import of the South American country Argentina has slowed down during 2017-2019. The projection for 2020 also shows a dip of 8.73%.

    The total bauxite import of Argentina from 2017-19 stood at 408,789 tonnes and when projected for the year 2020, the Y-o-Y shows a dip.

    The total import from 2017-20 shows 523,676 tonnes and the total foreign revenue expended from 2017-19 accounted to $ 163.77 million and when the year 2020 is added it reaches $230.83 million.

    In 2017 the bauxite import showed some positive trend with total volume stood at 153,424 tonnes and the foreign revenue expended has been $47.58 tonnes.

    The bauxite import of Argentina in 2018 showed downfall by 23,947 tonnes, de-growth by 15.60% and the total volume stood at 129,477 tonnes, whereas the amount paid showed a rise of 12.88%. The total foreign revenue paid was $53.71 million.

    The import of bauxite by Argentina was recorded 125,888 tonnes in 2019, fall by 2.77% and the amount paid was $62.48 million, rise by 16.32%.

    The bauxite import for 2020 is projected at 114,887 tonnes as the demand downturns in the country and the price also inflates by 7.33%, as the total projected amount stands at $67.06 million. The year 2020 shows a dip of 8.73% when compared to the preceding year.

    Argentina has been importing bauxite from multiple countries which includes Brazil, China, India, Netherlands, USA, etc.
