    Germany’s Aluminium cans export projected 24% dip in 2020

    Aluminium cans are the 520th most traded product and the 525th most complex traded product in the global trade market.


    Germany, one of the largest export economies in the world and also one of the most complex economies, is the leading exporter of aluminium cans in the world.


    Germany has been the major aluminium cans exporter in Europe with an export volume of 294,772 tonnes from 2017-19, a rock-solid performance. The total revenue generation for the period by exporting aluminium cans rose to $1.15 billion.


    In 2017 Germany’s aluminium cans export stood at 98,247 tonnes, generating $382.22 million. In 2018 the aluminium can export declined by 15.78%, in volume 15,512 tonnes from the previous. The revenue generation reflected was $356.74 million.


    The year 2019 showed a soaring trend of aluminium cans export by marking a volume of 113,790 tonnes. The highest volume of export recorded from 2017-20. The tick up was at the rate of 37.53%, excess of volume export by 31,055 tonnes. The revenue generation was $411.51 million, again the highest in the period.


    The estimated export volume of aluminium cans for 2020 is 86,175 tonnes, a dip of 24.26%. The export volume is projected to drop by 27,315 tonnes. The revenue generation will be $360.05 million.


    The total volume of export of Germany’s aluminium cans from 2017-20 will be at 380,947 tonnes and revenue generation is accounted at $1.51billion.


    Germany has been in continuous process of exporting aluminium cans to countries like Algeria, Argentina, Australia, India, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Jordan, etc.
