    Alumina spot price declines by RMB9/t, but A00 aluminium ingot price grows by RMB50/t

    After starting the week with restraint at RMB 2,467 per tonne, the average alumina spot price today, on December 10, has recorded a plunge of RMB 9 per tonne to RMB 2,458 per tonne, found Shanghai Metals Market. So far this month, the average alumina spot price has shown a bearish trend like the month before, although within a limited range. In last just more than a week, the price has slipped by RMB 25 per tonne ranging between RMB 2,483 per tonne and RMB 2,458 per tonne.

    In the east, the average spot price of alumina has declined by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 2,460 per tonne, while that in the central and north by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2,480 per tonne and RMB 2,460 per tonne. In the south, the price has shown no change today. Also, the imported alumina price and the Australian alumina FOB price are continuing at RMB 2,520 per tonne and US$ 280 per tonne.

    But despite the drop in the alumina spot price, the A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a growth of RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 14,110 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,090 per tonne and RMB 14,130 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 10-50 per tonne.

    So far this month, the A00 aluminium ingot price has shown a bullish trend, except an intermittent drop. During December 2-10, the price has recorded a growth of RMB 60 per tonne ranging between RMB 14,050 per tonne and RMB 14,110 per tonne. 

    In Chongqing today, the A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 80 per tonne to RMB 14,140 per tonne, followed by Gongyi and Foshan, where the price has grown by RMB 70 per tonne and RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 14,035 per tonne and RMB 14,110 per tonne. In Shenyang, Tianjin, and Linyi, the aluminium ingot price has inched up by RMB 45 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,095 per tonne, RMB 14,120 per tonne, and RMB 14,110 per tonne, respectively.
