Pierce Aluminum, a leading distributor of aluminium and a manufacturer of aluminium finished products in Massachusetts is planning to consolidate its Kent and South Park operations by early 2020.  Both the operations will be consolidated at its new Federal Way location. Pierce Aluminum Company, which was founded in 1967, operates in 10 locations across the U.S.

The company will transfer 10 of their employees to Federal Way and plans to hire about four more people by the end of 2020 for the consolidated plant.

“We are an aluminum distributor, so Federal Way’s centralized location and access to freeways was a key,” said Randy Pierce, branch manager of Pierce Aluminum-Seattle, adding that the Kent and South Park facilities cover the states of Washington and Oregon. “Having both operations under one roof located with easy access to I-5 will enhance our service to our customers.”

The company has already bought a building at 34100 9th Ave. S. in Federal Way. Pierce said the company is beginning the permit process with the city on the capital improvements on the building. The consolidated Federal Way facility is expected to be operational in H1 2020.
