    Qatar’s aluminium crude, metals and alloys exports to the US recorded a drop of 30% in August

    After a considerable rise of 29 per cent in July 2019, Qatar’s aluminium crude, metals and alloys exports to the United States recorded a drop in August by about 30 per cent to stand at 10,700 tonnes, found United States Geological Survey. In July, the export volume was amounted to 15,300 tonnes after increasing from 11,900 tonnes in June. In May, according to the USGS data, Qatar had exported 15,600 tonnes of crude, metals and alloys to the US, which indicates that the export volume in June had recorded a drop of 24 per cent.

    So, as can be seen in the above graph, Qatar’s exports to the US were the lowest in August in the said four months’ time. The total crude, metals and alloys exports from Qatar to the US during May-August were at 53,500 tonnes, while that during January-August were at 114,000 tonnes.

    The figure thus, represents that Qatar in the first four months of the year had exported 60,500 tonnes, higher by 13 per cent from the next four months.

    In August, Canada had also exported the same amount of crude, metals and alloys to the US, but its total amount of exports from January to August were at 891,000 tonnes.

    After Qatar, India was the next highest exporter of crude, metals and alloys to the US in August, providing 6,470 tonnes, followed by Bahrain which exported 5,130 tonnes in the said month. India’s total exports from January to August were 117,000 tonnes and Bahrain’s 92,400 tonnes.
