Garnalex¡¯s new aluminium extrusion facility set to begin operations this year

Garnalex, a new aluminium trade extrusion company that was formed in March 2018, plans to launch operations at the new £9m aluminium extrusion facility later in 2019. Aluminium extrusion machinery is already installed at a new production facility at Nether Heage in Derbyshire.

The new investment into the 100,000 square foot factory will allow Garnalex to extrude four tonnes of aluminium an hour on the SMS Hybrex Press. The company also plans to launch its new window and door systems at the end of Q1 2020.

“Aluminium extrusion machinery has been installed ready for commissioning at Garnalex’s new production facility at Nether Heage in Derbyshire,” Merritts Machinery Logistics reported.

“Merritts were appointed to provide lifting equipment and a mechanical installation team to offload and install a SMS HybrEx extrusion machine and a OMAV furnace. In total the Aluminium extrusion press weighed over 170 tonnes,” according to Merritts.

Their machinery installation knowledge has been of great value and they have cohesively worked with the OEM engineers to complete works well within the expected timeframe.
