Silberline starts expansion of its waterborne aluminium pigment facility

Silberline,  a global supplier of aluminium effect pigments announced last week about an undergoing expansion of their Tamaqua, Pennsylvania production facility.  The company held a dedication ceremony for its expanded waterborne aluminium pigment facility. The association’s Manager of Statistical Programs – and staff executive for the Pigments and Powder Division – Hank Sattlethight was present at the ceremony and announced the multimillion-dollar investment.

After the expansion of the production capabilities to produce pigments compatible with waterborne coating systems, Silberline will become the leading waterborne compatible aluminium pigment manufacturer in North America.

Our enhanced global footprint will allow us to offer more solutions to our customers’ needs for sustainable methods such as water-borne technology while also doing what’s best for our community and the planet,” said Gary Karnish, Chief Executive Officer of Silberline.

Aluminium pigments are produced from atomized aluminium powder and manufactured through a wet-milling process and available in both leafing and non-leafing grades. Silberline is a family owned company serving global customers for more than 70 years. The waterborne compatible aluminium pigments are used in a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications like protective coating, automotive paints and on packaging of consumer goods.
